Press releases / speaker bureaus / media profiles

Alym Amlani CPA, CA, is the lead author of ChatGPT Ate My Homework, a practical guide for educators teaching in a world where generative AI can complete nearly any assignment. He teaches accounting and business subjects at the UBC Sauder School of Business and Kwantlen Polytechnic University, with earlier teaching at Langara College. His work focuses on AI use, disclosure, assessment redesign, academic integrity, and classroom tools faculty can apply immediately.

Alym is known for practical frameworks including the 3Ds (dialog, declare, design) for proactive AI disclosure and the 3Ms (misunderstanding, misuse, misconduct) for reviewing academic-integrity concerns. His position is that higher education must teach responsible AI use as an essential professional skill while designing assessments that capture process, judgment, and defensible evidence of learning.

Before teaching, Alym worked as a Deloitte auditor and consulted for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Organizing Committee. He is also a former professional magician with published Science of Magic research, a background he uses as a serious lens on attention, perception, and learning design.
